Welcome to Life's Mission

So I decided to make a new blogpost...what on? Well, it sure wasn't gonna be on how to build a nuclear missle, I can tell ya that. What do I know a lot about? What have I spent more time than anything observing? bing! That shot off a lightbulb above my head. My family! Duh. Who else have I been around and spent nearly every day of the past 15 years with? And really, they'd make a pretty darn interesting subject, in my opinion at least.

I duno, maybe every teenager secretly feels like their family seems to have fallen strait out of a TV sitcom. Or maybe it's just me. Like I said, I duno.
I have a mom who's obsessed with NASCAR, a dad who's favorite TV station is the Disney Channel, a brother who's antics can be completely rediculous, my pug Daisy who's probably one of the strangest dogs you'll ever meet..... And then you've got me. Now that part's not so weird. I mean c'mon, I'm only one of the most perfectly normal induviduals you'll ever come accross in life (whispers: and anyone who believes that fact can stand on their head).

I've got to admit it though, despite how strange I can be at times, I do have high goals in life. Infact, some of the highest, really. When I was two years old my mom asked me what I wanted to be and I said "God!" 'Tis a goal worth keeping, no? Hey, raise your hand if you want Sarah Iddings to reign supreme over your life!

Ok, so maybe that won't quite work out. Although I can't be God, I still study in His word. I had accepted Jesus at the age of 4, and even as a little kid I knew some biblical facts and verses. I knew that "God so loved the world that he gave his only forgotten son." and I had memorized Matt 11:28 - "Come unto me all you weary and heavy ladies and I will give you rest." I even could tell you who built the ark-- Grandma & Grandpa! How I became so brilliant as to know that fact, I'll never know.

Alright, this post about my family kinda turned to stuff about me. I guess that's the fallen selfish human nature for ya.
We always seem to be all "me, me, me". On a mission to live our lives for our enjoyment and not think about others.
That's where us Christians should step in, go against the crowd, and set an example. To live our lives for God and the good of others. To help our friends as well as our enemies and show the love of the Lord to our little portion of the world.
Weather it's not taking the biggest cookie or risking your life for some one, it doesn't matter, as long as we start somewhere and carry on doing it.

Welcome to life's mission. Now let's take it together, one step at a time.

Life's Mission

When life has turned the tables
Fairy tale endings become fables
grab a friends helping hand
and you happiness will be like sand

Pray to God for the strength
keep steadfast faith
take the name a christian
and begin life's mission

Some how Sarah, your blog makes so much sense.
