Not gonna fight you anymore
Not gonna try and lock the door...

The lyrics to the song I'm listening to are playing. Trust you. By Brandon Heath.
I don't want to lock the door on a friendship, but it seems like it's happening anyway.
Conversation dies...and now it's like I'm just all out being avoided for the most part. Sure, we talk sometimes, but rarely and not for very long.
What's happening here? I don't want this to happen...not again. But it's slipping away and I can't seem to do a thing about it.
We used to be such good friends...

It's like a plant. Green and healthy and wonderful, but then beginning to wither. And now, next thing to dead and dried up.

Some days are complicated, like a really weird title of a song
Some days can steal my happiness, but I gotta just move on
We're up, we're down, we get turned around
Keep your head above the water, try not to drown
'Cause this life's a life worth living
And I think we'll make it through some how.

Yeah...um...just decided to add in the words to a song I'm writing. lol. Don't call it the "Random Writings" for nothing...

hmmm. i totaally see what your saying. i actually let the friendship die though . . . . . negative points to me . . . and i felt realy guilty and everything, but it just seemed time to move on from something. i didn't quite understand it, but i tried to continue conversation with this other person, but it was such a half hearted lousy effort that i felt more guilt . . . . sighs . . .

lol that was kinda lousy post . . . .\

what i kinda meant to say ws that you need to talk to this other person, and confront them, and ask a question that is SO blantant, SO obvious, SO direct, that they cannot avoid it, and figure out whats going on before you get left behind.

*sigh* thanks Bo. But what if you're not sure if they know that they're seeming as though they're letting the friendship slip away?

gosh I wish I was better at being blunt...

i would find a piticular issue and confront them. getting the truth in a hard way is better then never knowing the truth at all.

I think a lot of it depends on who the person is and what relationship you had.
I finally let a friendship go and I wish I had done it sooner. I felt guilty about not doing my part for a long time, until I realized I was the only one doing anything - and I was really carrying the whole "friendship." which is a lot of effort with no results.

we didn't talk about it, we didn't say "ok it's over now." we still send Christmas cards and I wish her happy birthday. if she makes a move to get part of this back, I'm here for her.

but it's not fair to you to waste all your time, effort, and energy, for something the other person doesn't want. just be there for them if they want to come back.

and if you think it's still worth saving, then Jacob's right, you HAVE to talk. I know confrontation sucks, but it's much healthier than letting something fester.

I agree. Is there anything I can do??

Yeah, I totally see where you guys are coming from. I had to do that once last year and we ended up talking things out and are really good friends again....but that time it was a girl. This time it's with a guy and for me that makes things sort of awkward and complicated in the sense of figuring things out and all that.

But you all are quite right. I really need to find some way to talk to him...if he'll even read my emails...

send him an email saying

"hey! i've sent a few messages but you never replied to them. whats up?"

that way your not exactly accusing him, but your letting him know he needs to "speak now or forever hold his mouth shut."

. . . . . . . hopefully he doesn't read this blog . . i could get into trouble . . lol.

That is a good thought. I should do that. Thanks!

...and I doubt he'd see this blog. lol actually Bo I think you're the only "he" who sees this blog. And if he did, he wouldn't know what he we're talking about probably since no names have been mentioned.
