No, no, incase you're wondering about my title here, we did not have snow at my house ;-)
Typical, for Clarkston.
It was the name of this thing that my friend Taylor and I went to this weekend up in Republic, Washington.
It was called The Blizzard and it was a weekend church camp.
When Mrs. Strottmann gave my mom the information about it, she said that it would be about a 6 hour trip from Moscow... My mom figured "That's huge, it must be a 6 hour round trip." Well, turns out that it was a six hour trip! But hey, I enjoy long car trips. Turns out the place we were going to is a church up on a snow-covered mountain in Republic, Washington.
We got there around 6:30 (if I remember right) and we showed up in the middle of a Bible trivia game that was set to be similar to "Who Wants to Be A Millionaire". I was on the pink team, Taylor was on green, and this guy named Tim whom I got to know over our dinner stop at a fast food restaurant was on the red team. There were also three other teams: blue, purple, and orange. After that game there was a sermon by this guy named Dennis. He was a very good pastor. He taught about making choices to serve God and obeying our parents. After that there were more games.
The one I liked the most was where we were racing to see waht team's players could all each eat a stick of liccorice without using their hands. It was a challenge, but I turned out to be one of the top fastest people on my team for that game. Then once that and the other games were over we had a snack and then went to bed around 12:30 AM.
Then wakeup call was 6:45 AM. So we got dressed, had breakfast, then went out to play broom hockey, which was fun, despite the fact that my team lost every single round. It was very beautiful out there! A wonderful veiw of the mountain valley and so much snow!!
Then when we were done out there we went inside for another seromon, then had lucnh, and found out what places our teams came in for points (we were scored on all games, plus were able to do extra things to earn bonus points). Taylor's team came in first and (not much of a suprise to me here) my team was last. Then we got to find out what church's group won the Blizzard Cup (which was this big trophy thing that was full of candy...and came with a whole table full of it besides that!). Taylor's group didn't win, but oh well. They're not the biggest church group who was there, so the chances were smaller of that.
All and all, it was a really great trip! Thank God I survived the trip home though... I mean really, between Taylor's constant camera flashes (she's OBSESSED with taking photos...she just got a digital camera for her birthday) and the fact that we drove through a big snow storm all the way home. It was pretty bad...I counted and we passed 6 cars that had gone off the road and one that was fliped and lying on it's side. *sigh of relief* The Lord sure kept us safe on that one...!

*Gasp* She's ANCHIENT!
Gosh, I was just looking and I've been so preocupied that I never wrote anything on here about my birthday!
It really was the best birthday I've ever had. A little different, yes, but I liked it quite a lot :-)
And I feel like writing this post differently, so I shall launch into story mode or whatever you wish to call it...So without further adue, well...you know what I'm writing about so just go down and read! If you want to, that is. ;-)
"Names & Numbers- your five-star phone book!" sings the radio ad... *yawn* Oh, man, time to get up already? Sarah thinks to herself as she reaches up to turn off her clock radio. 8:00 AM the clock reads. One hour and 15 minutes until the red van would pull up and take her away from her home for 3 hours of leaf raking. *sigh* Well, I guess I had better be getting up here...
She makes her way downstairs and looks around. Mom & dad in bed and Nathaniel watching his cartoons... typical, for a Saturday morning. What wasn't typical was the fact that she'd gotten up at 8:00. Normally for her Saturday = stay in bed until 9:00 or 9:30. Oh well, some times you must make sacrifices.
A little more than an hour later she was riding up in that red van with her friends Luke, Hannah & Kaitelyn, on their way to Calvary Chapel's new church building to help clean the yard up a bit.
Ah, yes, another youth group volunteer activity. Helping out and being with friends at the same time, quite a nice combination, really.
At the end of the morning, they all together had raked 44 bags of leaves. Plus they had free doughnuts as well :-) Yummmm.
That afternoon, after shoveling down her food as fast as she was capeable of, Sarah waited for her friends Taylor & Kitana to arrive. What better way to spend the afternoon of your birthday than with two of your best buds?
She didn't have to wait very long for soon as she had finished the doorbell rang.
The afternoon was great, taking goofy photos of eachother (even when they weren't meant to be goofy!), watching music videos, eating cake & ice cream...and oh! Did I meantion preasents? Ah, yes, quite fun!
That evening after her friends had gone home and dinner had been eaten, one might think that the fun was over, but noooooo... Even to Sarah's suprise, it wasn't!
RIIIING! RIIIING! There goes the phone..... "Hello?" soon as she spoke into the phone, she heard, "Happy birthday to you! Happy bithday to you! Happy bithday dear Sarah! Happy birthday to you!...that's number 4!"
Oh, yes... when her and the youth group were raking leaves they decided that they would sing her happy birthday 15 times over. Well, they only made it to three... well, make that 4, now!
The phone continiued to ring throughout the evening and each time it was people from youth group singing "Happy Birthday!" It was hilarious... So they got their 15 happy birthday songs in, and Sarah got the most memorable birthday ever... :-)

It's 2008 already!?
I keep telling myself that I should really make a blog post soon....and I get distracted and never do!
Well, here I am, FINALLY writing my new post! Yes, I didn't do the Christmas one... nor did I make a New Year's post as I had hoped either. Time just really gets away from me some times.
The whole year 2007 was like that for me. There were so many things that I kept meaning to do that I put off.... and then suddenly *WHAM!* 2008 hits me in the face and leaves me wondering "Where in the world did this past year go!?"... Then this thought comes to me and it says this past year went into the past. DUH! Where else could it go?
It's crazy how fast time can go. I was told by some one that my high school years would be the fastest ever, and so far I agree that they are completely right. As the saying goes, "so much to do, so little time!" How true that is!
You know what the craziest thing of all is? I'm turning 15 tomorrow. 15! Man. I can hardly believe it. My 14th birthday doesn't seem like that long ago...nor does my 13th. Oh, or that awesome slumber party that I had on my 12th....ah, that was great. And I keep sitting here thinking about the fact that I'll be 16 one year from tomorrow. Amazing.
Did you ever think about the fact that we are always waiting for something? There always seems to be something where some one says "Oh I can't wait for ____!" Even as I'm writing this I'm thinking how I can hardly wait to eat that cake that I just took out of the oven. Some how we always seem think of something about the present that we're not quite satisfied with. There's something that we wish would happen that seems to take forever, or something that we wish wouldn't happen that comes at us at a seemingly fierce rate. But once we're in heaven... we'll live forever. Time won't matter anymore because life is eternal and since everything will be perfect we will never sit and think "Oh I wish tomorrow would hurry up and get here!" How cool is that!?

And This Means WAR!
It is the epic battle...The terrorized vs. the terrible. The enemy comes in millions, but invades your home just a couple at a time. They show up when they're least expected and if they don't get caught quickly, they dissapear without a trace into parts unknown to torment other victoms. Their reflexes are usually quite fast and they know how to torture. Yet, fortunately, we have advantages. One of those being the electric vacuum cleaner.
Yes, it is the long waging war of Sarah Vs. Spider!
9:45 PM: Base Camp: Otherwise known as... my bed.
"The enemy has invaded once again. This time, they have penetrated the base camp and are currently using fear to their advantage to cause more havoc.
Enemy leg span: about one inch.
Color: dark brown.
Enemy position: inside the roof of the base camp. (aka, my canopy)"
Okay, yeah... here's kinda how it went...
Mom: Good night, Sarah. Love you.
Sarah: Good night. Love you too. [lays back on pillow and looks up] AAAAAAHHHH! [jups to back of bed]
Mom: What!?
Dad & Nathaniel run in: What's going on?
Sarah: Huge spider in my canopy!!!
Dad: Well let's squash it.
Sarah: Not on my canopy- I don't want guts all over it!
Mom: Get the vaccuum cleaner.
[grabs vaccuum]
VAROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM
Sarah: Did ya get it??
Mom: I thought it was on the outside of your canopy- it was inside.....Where'd it go!?
Sarah: AW MAN! I think I saw it run out.... I hope it's not in my bed.
Dad: [digs through random stuff near the head of Sarah's bed] I don't see it.
Sarah: Hey, watch out for those papers! Don't wadd up my drawings.
Dad: Well what're they doing down there?
Sarah: Uh... I don't really know...
[Mom & Dad give up looking for spider]
Sarah: Well good nigh...I hope that THING gets out of my room before morning.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Next Day: 8:47 AM
[Sarah wakes up]
Arggh! It's back!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And that thing still hasn't been sent to it's rightful home....that being the vacuum.

I Shall Always Remember The Day Before The Day Before Yesterday
This week's been great. This whole YEAR has been great! I've never made so many awesome memories in one year before and this week I've gotten two more to add to the collection.I'll start with Tuesday, since it came first.......
Now, if you've ever been to the valley here around Chirstmas time, you'll probibly hear about Locomotive Park (if from no one else, you'll at least be told of it from me!). It's THE most awesome place in town to go if you're looking for some holiday fun. Each year the deck the whole place out completely. It's wonderful...the only way it could be better is when it's filled with snow...and your friends! Just how it was that night...Absolutelly PERFECT! The ground was sparkling, the lights were shining rainbow, Christmas music was blasting everywhere you went, and you had to watch your back because you never know when an icy cold snowball would hit you.
I went up with Carolyn, to meet up with the rest of my buds from the GRC crew... Rachel, Libby, Nathanael, Mr. & Mrs. Hoffmann....oh, and Nathanael and I's friend Jacob (he's not from GRC). We had a big snowball fight, danced and slid all over the icy dance mat that lights up spots on one of the trees depending on where you step...How fun is that!? It's the place where everyone no matter how old they are can just be crazy and act like a kid. It couldn't have been more wonderful. I even got a great photo to go with it! Originally it was just going to be with Nathanael and I by this one tree, but then right before Mrs. Hoffmann got the shot, Jacob suddenly jumped into the picture beside me! That was...unexpected! LOL. But I figured hey, I don't know him that well, but if he wants to be in the picture, I'll let him. It turned out quite well, really :-)
Saturday...now that was one of the BEST times of my LIFE! I rode up to Spokane with my youth group. Me & the guys went to the Punk The Halls Christian rock concert. The rest of the girls went to the mall... I'm glad I chose the concert, honestly! At first it was hard to choose 'cause I've heard Spokane has a really great mall, but I decided hey, I'd have other chances to go to the mall I'm sure, and how many chances would I get to see one of my favorite bands live in concert? Probibly not many! That was probibly the best decission ever. If I hadn't gone, I think I would've been so mad at myself. It was AWESOME. Crazy lighting effects, music that I love, and 4 awesome friends at my side... could things get much better!?
The concert was hosted by this rapper guy who went by the name ManAfest, and also included several bands of which I'd never heard of before... Eleventyseven, Our Heart's Hero, and...I'm thinking there may have been one more but I can't think of what it was called. And of course, the main band that we had all come to see... Stellar Kart!
Yeah, and all of you reading this are probibly sitting there thinking "Our Heart's Hero? Stellar Kart? ManAfest? Eleventyseven? Who comes up with all these weird names anyway?!" I have one answer for you: I haven't the faintest idea. All that I know is that they have some pretty cool music. Stellar Kart is the best though. Nathanael and I agree that they're definitely the favorite band of us both. They're one of the few bands that I've run accross that have never ever put out a song that I dislike.
Of course, since they were the main band who'd be playing, they saved them for the last half of the concert after the intermission. So during the little 10 minute break time, the guys (being my friends Tim, Luke, Nathanael, and Jacob) and I stepped out for some water and agreed together that we would be CRAZY during all the Stellar Kart songs. So when we got back in we movied up near the stage where all the wild fans went. We went very crazy and had the time of our lives ;-) I even got some pretty good photos. I feel bad for whoever it was that was standing behind me though... I lost count of the many many times that I stepped on his foot!
It was kinda funny... When Adam, the lead singer of Stellar Kart, got up on stage we realized that he'd been standing like 5 feet behind us for the first half of the concert, helping to run the soundboard! I couldn't believe it! If I'd recognized him, I'd have gotten an autograph. Right after the concert we all ran over to the souvaneer stand and took advantage of the 2 for 10$ pre-order deal on SK's new CD that's coming out this February. Nathanael and I went 50/50 so we each only had to pay 5$. I can't wait 'till we get 'em in the mail!! I couldn't think of a better souvaneer, even if I won't be getting it for a few months.
I thought my friend Hannah was pretty funny... beforehand she kept feeling sorry for me being the only girl in the group who was headed for the concert. Then on our way back from the concert (we were in separate cars) she called me up on the cell phone saying "Sarah! I feel so bad for you! Being the only girl and all. I'm sorry!!" and I was sitting there laughing going "Ohhhh, don't feel bad for me! It was AWESOME!" And honestly, had I the chance, I wouldn't have chosen anyone different to go with.

Safe to Say, it's Been Insane
I've always known December was one of the busiest months of the year, but man, it's just CRAZY for me this year!!! Just this week's been real busy... wich explains for me not posting ;-)
SUNDAY -- Church in the morning, of course. I had a fun conversation on the phone with Lucy and then after that I went over to Grace Reformed Church where Nathanael, Dexter, and Laurel go and joined them for their evening service. That was very fun :-) I don't get to join them too often because my church usually has an evening Bible study thing of some sort, but when we don't, I go over there! After church we went downstairs and played Red Light, Green Light with Rachel, and a couple of the younger kids- Emily and Davy. It was sooooo funny when Davy was up front because he'd constantly be saying "Blue Light!" and then shortly after that he'd usually say "Nathanael go back!" Then there was Dexter... I've never seen some one who's so incredibly good at loosing in the game of Red Light, Green Light. LOL. After he messed up and got sent to the back, he'd run through to the front in the middle of Red Light time. Haha. That's Dexter for ya. ;-)
MONDAY-- Oh, let's see...what did happen on Monday? I IM'd Lucy, I'm pretty sure. And it was our family movie night. Not a ton going on that day, actually...
TUESDAY -- Tuesday was great!! I got to go down to the physical therapy place and draw a winter scene on their white board for them. They all loved it and kept complimenting me on my art...when is that not fun!? Haha. My mom's hopfully going to take her camera down and get a picture of it soon, then I can post it. Also that day it was 65 degrees outside... Extremely strange for December here, but I loved it! I'd been wishing that it'd warm up soon so I could ride my bike to the park again, and then it did! Wow. It was real fun... and I got some great pics which I will post on my picasa when I get around to it. Then in the evening I volunteered to help out at the library's Christmas craft party... that was nuts. 100 noisy kids every where, I'm giving kids instructions on how to make Christmas tree greeting cards, and the spot where I'm working is right next to the purfumey bath salts stand and I got a headache from that :-( I'm sensitive to perfume stuff... like my mom.
WEDNESDAY -- The absolute craziest day of all the week! School (of course), IMing Lucy and Zak, then right after lunch I went to work at the library and got to lift lots of books and push around a cart that weighed more than I did :-P And of course I got to see my friends Dwight, Alyssa, and Jeanette (they're the other volunteers that I work with). After that I went to play Ultimate Frisbee (my team won!!). By the end of that I couldn't feel my hands because they got cold...I have BAD cerculation! Then I went to paint windows at the library and then went home for dinner. After that I had to finish the math lesson that I didn't have time to do before and then I went to youth group until 9! Whew. But it was fun :-)
THURSDAY -- We all had to get up at 6:30 and be on the road at 7:30 'cause my dad had a work meeting. So mom and dad dropped my brother and I off at my grandparent's house and we stayed there all day while mom and dad headed for the meeting. When ever there's a long trip, mom's gotta be in the car with my dad all the time because otherwise he might fall asleep at the wheel. Oh, and I also IM'd Lucy and Zak again and I heard from Lindy who I'm to be Secret Santa for.... although I will not disclose that information at this time ;-)
FRIDAY -- Well...that's today! Not sure about what I'll be up to most of the day but I know that at 6:30 my mom, brother, and I are going to go on a jet boat tour up the river to see all of the local Christmas lights. We went on one last year too and it was AMAZING!! I'm gonna have to be sure and bring my camera...Not sure if I'll have any opertunites for any real good shots though.
SATURDAY -- We're gonna be cleaning house a lot tomarrow...we've got some company coming on Sunday so we've gotta make the place look presentable. Other than that, I'm really not sure what that day's got in store for me... I guess I shall soon find out!

IT'S COMING!!!! Oh, it just came...
The Christmas season is definitely here!
It's freezing cold (yes, litterally), I'm seeing more and more Christmas lights coming on every night, and holiday songs are playing on the radio. I love it :-)
It's such a joyous season. And what reason is there for it not to be? Hey, it's Jesus's birthday- now that, I must say is something worth celebrating. It's no wonder there is so much joy in the air this season!
We just put up our tree 'n stuff this past weekend. How fun! I just love decorating, especially for Christmas :-) Our house looks so pretty around the holiday season... I shouold post some pictures some time. We'll see if I actually get around to it. I've got so much to do and so little time each day to do it in, it seems. I have two books going, one for fun and one for School and I'm only half way through both of them. The one for school I'd better finish up soon though because the questions that go with it that I need to answer are due on the 6th! Then there's all the other stuff... Ultimate Frisbee, youth group, volunteering at the library, getting Christmas cards made and sent, chores, guitar practice. Plus there is a ton of stuff that I keep meaning to do. Like I need to finish putting my Camp Hope photos onto Picasa for Lucy...I started on that last week and then somehow I got destracted and didn't finish... Don't worry Lucy, they're coming soon- I promise! I'm hoping to do that some time today.
This weekend they're doing the Christmas parade...It's gonna be COLD! The weather forecast says lows from 14 to 11 degrees! Stalk up on the blankets and cocoa, I guess. I'm hopfully going to be bringing my friend Kitana along, so maybe when candy isn't being flung at us, we can huddle together to keep warm. Also some other fun activites are coming in the near future - a free hour long jet boat ride up the river after dark to see all the Christmas lights from both sides of the river. My mom, brother, and I went last year and it was so much fun! The other one is the home school Christmas parties. The Teens are going to go bowling this year again. That'll be great. I had so much fun doing that last year. And on the 15th my youth group is going up to Spokane to see a Stellar Kart concert. They're a Christian rock band which I like. Turns out that I'm the only girl who's going to the concert though...all the other ones are going shopping in the big mall there while me and the guys go to the concert. I was kind of suprised none of them wanted to go to the concert, but oh well. It's not the first time I've been the only girl in a group. I guess that day I'll get a taste of how it was for Tim the one night where he was the only boy in a room full of girls at youth group once. lol. Man, I felt bad for him that time...stuck in a room full of crazy giggling girls with no other guys to talk to!
I suppose that I should stop typing here and go work on the other things that I've been meaning to get done. Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!
