How....Fair!

Ah, the sounds, the smells, the fun, the animals, the rides! Oh how I love the fair.

Isn't is so odd how you know that it's one day and it seems like it should be another? My dad took the day off work and it totally seems like a Saturday. It always seems to when it's the day of the Nez Perce fair.

I think that one of the best parts is just the suspense of it all, really. You show up and you're heart's just pounding with excitement and anticipation..."How did I do this year? Did I get a lot of ribbons? Did I win a lot of prize money? Did I get one of the BIG ribbons!?!? Oh, mom, let's look and see how our entrees did before we go anywhere else, okay??"

The suspense is always killing me. Every year since I won my first big rosette ribbon I've gone to the fair hoping that I willl have earned another. I remember the first time that I got one....It was a wonderful feeling I got when I walked up and saw that there was this huge ribbon attached to my artwork! What a thrill for an 11 year old :) Now I'm 14 and I still love getting 'em just as much as before. The first time I got them, one was for creativity and the other was a best in show. After that there was one year (when I was 12) that I didn't get one. Then I was 13 and I won the sweepstakes ribbon in art and then this year I won it as well.

And of course, the fair just wouldn't seem like the fair without going on the rides. I met up with my friend Rebecca and we went on several together. So as we're being tossed and turned, I'm as camera happy as ever, taking video of the whole thing. Once I put it on to my computer, I will hopfully post my pics and vids from the fair for y'all.

WOW. Okay, I feel rather dwarfed here! and I thought I've entered a lot of stuff before...

but hopefully more next year. I've got some cool ideas. I really want to steal that American flag idea, it sounds like a really good one! but then they'd say I was creative and it would really be someone else's creativity...maybe I'll just do it for fun.

only - I've never gotten a white. so that would be tough. and I usually recycle my ribbons anyway. oh well, I still want to see a pic!

Yeah, I'm hoping some day here to put up the pics...it's been hard getting them into a blog post because it takes like 3 or 4 tries before my computer will actually upload. I've gotten some on here though, it just could be a while before I actually get them all and put up the post.

And that would be fine if you wanted to try my flag idea...if you can get the right ribbons for it anyway. I had to borrow a white and a couple reds from my mom because I didn't have enough.
