Friends...and God Vs. Santa Clause

You dont always think about it...you dont always want to think about it, but you cant really say "Best Friends Forever" and be honest at the same time. Friends dont always last forever, things happen, people move, we grow up, ect. I hadn't thought too much about it myself until a couple years ago when two of my best friends moved within a couple months of eachother. I guess God was teaching me a lesson in that incident. Friends are great, but as are all things in this world, they're temporary.

I believe I'm very blessed to have the friends that I do. We all are blessed to have friends, more than we can imagine, I'm sure. I mean really, we're sinners, we mess things up and can be completely rebellious to our Creator, and yet he still continiues to send wonderful things and people into our lives. Arent you glad that God isn't like "Santa"? "You'd better not pout, you'd better not cry, you better not shout, I'm tellin' ya why. Santa Clause is coming to town!" He doesnt show much mercy twards those kids who mess up. If you're bad, you get a lump of coal. With God, he's patient. He knows we mess up and He will forgive us for that and still send good things into our lives, even to those who totally rebel against Him.

I know that I'm far from perfect, but God has most definitely been good to me. I have a great family and tons of wonderful friends-both ones that I've known for years and those of you whom I just met this summer. What have I ever done to deserve all this? I havent the slightest idea. But isnt it great to know that the God who created the heavens and the earth and all that is in them cares about you and has carefully planned out every little detail of your life? I think so!

best friends don't last, do they? because we don't stay the same forever and ever our best friends don't either and sometimes we can't stay close. sometimes we'll gradually grow apart and sometimes we'll shoot off like rockets. I hate to think about losing the best friends I have now though. best not to think like that and just live like they'll be there forever but every day is gonna be our last.

sometimes I just have to stand there in awe at the great plan God has for my life. I'm only seeing bits and pieces of it right now, little edges that may or may not be there, but He's preparing me for it in his awesome way and I can't complain because whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger and he's building up my strength.

Missed you too, Lucy!!!
*hug* And I'm glad to have you as a friend too :-) Do you think you will be at camp this coming year? I hope!!!

And it's so true how you put that, Anna. Some times you grow apart and other times you shoot off like rockets. But yeah, I guess just enjoy every moment as it comes! I'm prety much always like that...perhaps it's partly why I'm such an optimist :-) And I'm glad to have you as a friend as well *hug*. And do you think that you'll be at camp? yeah...I keep asking people. Joy got me started on it by asking Nathanael and I if we were going. lol

Thanks!

If you say you are not going to come, I will drive up there and bring you to Camp! There is no way you are going to get out of it! :)

Lol! Well maybe I should say that then, because it would be fun to ride up with you and Lindy!! :-)

Lol!!! Wasn't expecting that! Sounds like a good plan then!

We can sing songs, tell jokes, eat snacks, talk our heads off and and. . .
It would be lots of fun!

Sure would be!! Although Clarkston's probibly a ways out of the way from where you'd be coming from...

I love the comparison you made in this post Sarah. That's one of those brilliant little things that people look at and go "Yeah! That's eaplains it perfectly!" That was very realistic too. :)

Hey, you should publish that some where! That would be an AMAZING witnessing tool. Seriously, that was well thought out.
Great post!

oh yeah, I would LOVE to pick you up on the way to camp! though I am most certain we will be flying, otherwise that would be a looooooooooooong long drive. :P

Love you!

I'm sure we could figure it out Sarah. Besides, the detour would be all worth it!

Thanks, Lindy! Perhaps I will save this post. I should make a document with all the best posts on blogger that I and you all have made and once I get enough I could publish them! That would be cool. There is a self-publishing website that my mom uses.

And if there was a way for me to ride up with y'all, we ought to plan something out for this coming summer. It would be really cool if that actually happened.

It would be really sweet! We will have to see what happens.
