Tales of Park Swings & The Secret Island <3

Oh the joy and bliss... the memories that comes as I breath in the fresh spring air and enjoy the cool breeze all around me. Time seems to fly and stand still at the same time. I can't believe it's been so long since I've rode on a swing. lol... yeah, seriously, I've not been on one since Camp Hope! And that's been like...what? Close to 11 months?

I love the sunny days of spring that seem to keep popping up more and more here. It gives me a good excuse to get out of the house. Ignorence is bliss and there's no better place to ignore the troubles of the world than Swallow's Nest Park! After living here for the past will-be-9-years this summer, I still cannot figure out why in the world the park is called what it is. You rarely see swallows there. Loads of Canadian geese though. In fact we have so many that once a year they close the park and have a day where hunters can come and shoot them (if they didn't the goose population would overtake the whole park).

Really, it's a neat place though. Depending on wich direction you travel on the trail, you get completely different scenery. Going left you get a nice mostly shaded trail with lots of trees and a lot of squirrels and various birds. If you go right, you have a skinnier trail that goes along the highway twards the little town of Asotin. I usually take the trail of the left... there's just so much to see that way! There's the play ground... My secret island (ok, ok, there's nothing secret about it and it's not mine at all...aw well. I still love hanging out there when the watter's low enough to get onto it!). If you ride a mile or two farther, you'll come to the beach. It's really a great area... gotta be careful there on hot summer afternoons though 'cause that's where the rough teens hang out and occasionally there will be a fight brake out there :-P Then if you ride several miles beyond that, the trail takes you down to the boat docks where once in a while you'll see the Queen of The West- a big fancy paddle-wheeler boat. Also just off the trail from there is Costco, Albertson's, JoAnne Fabrics, Costcutter's, a furnature rental place, and the Dollar Tree.
Hmm. Ya know, one of these days I ought to take some pictures along there and post 'em for you guys...

Soon, one day soon

I'm working writing up a new post, but until I get around to finishing, you can look at this comic thingy I drew =) ... hope you can read it... I had to make it small to fit on my blog. The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything Get Busted For Loitering

I came up with the title here and thought it would be a fun news headline... then I decided it would make a cool picture, so my brother and I did a little photo shoot this morning and the end result is this:

Give me something to do on a couldy afternoon

And yet again my prophecy becomes reality... right after dad gets the car washed it rains. Really, I don't know why it happens but it seems to be an unavoidable fact that when ever my dad takes the car (or in this case, two of our cars) to get washed, it rains shortly there after.

I guess some things in life aren't meant to be understood.

Like why do most girls have an undeniable attraction to shoes and why are so many guys obsessed with cars? And back before cars, were they obsessed over their horse-drawn carriages? I've been wondering that... my assumption is that they were. But who knows, really? I guess the only way to find out is if you invented a time machine so you could go back to those times... of course, people would probably be so shocked to see you appear from nowhere with a techie gadget that they would be too scared for you to glean the information that you wish to know.

" Who knows what could happen/do what ya do just keep on laughin' "

Yes, I know, I'm kinda random here today :-)

"Might As Well Get The Panicing Done Before the Trip Starts."

Well last night my family and I got back from a trip to Longveiw, WA. It was actually more fun than I thought it would be! Funny as well.
I'm tellin' ya, any of you whom live in the cities and are used to those all motion activated bathrooms must really get a laugh when you see some small town hicks like us trying to figure the things out. Haha. I'm rather amused with my mom at times like those :-)

So the trip was nearly 7 hours long...'tis amazing that sitting around doing nothing can so thoroughly tire a parson out. That's something I've never really understood, but whatever. Something I've found with trips like these is that the trip over is far more enjoyable and seemingly faster than the ride back home. Anyhow, I really like car trips like these. Watching the scenery go by.... rocking out to AVA, Relient K, Switchfoot and others on my mp3 player... doing madlibs with my brother. It's really pretty fun. Then there's always that down time when you're just watching cars pass and you fall deep into thought... and then if the same thing happens to you as what happened to me, during that time of thought and watching traffic, you suddenly see an over sized hot dog traveling at high speed down the opposite lane of the highway and everyone in the car suddenly starts yelling "HEY! That's the Oscar Meyer Weener Mobile!"

The best part was unquestionably the discovery museum in the Dalles. That was majorly fun going through taking fun photos and making goofy videos with Nathaniel! One of these days when I can get movie maker to stop crashing long enough, I'm going to put them all together and upload the clips to youtube. Believe me, they're pretty hilarious... at least in our opinions ;-)
Anyhow, until I get all that done, here is one of the videos that will be in our group of vacation clips... it's a cowboy showdown/star wars thing. Hehe, interesting combo, eh?
