It seems like the Camp Hopie bloggers are dying... we used to be so active. This is sad.

....Random factual statement. And I'll write something of more substance later when I have time- as of right now, I bid you adieu for I must leave and get some lunch. And then maybe go take a walk down to the park...the weather is so lovely today! Makes me wish my bro and I could just plan a spur-of-the-moment airsoft war today. Except that his battery takes 8 hours to charge and I'm still waiting for my own gun to come in the mail (then I don't have to borrow from people anymore. Yay!). Oh well. A walk in the park still sounds great and is doable :)

It's All On The Radio

Secular radio... it contains sins whispered to the listener in the sweetest form. I'm sure you've had it happen- you're flipping through stations (or just tuning into that one in particular that you like the beats of). You find a song that has the most awesome tune to it and you just start rocking out floating along on the highs and lows of the notes that play. Then one day as that favorite song comes on the radio and you smile and turn up the music, you actually listen to the lyrics instead of the beat. Suddenly you realize the words that are floating along through the airwaves are telling you of lust, prostitution, or just randomly scattering unnecessary swear words throughout the tune. Ugh!

It's horrible. If you were just to have the lyrics without the music, it would be completely and utterly repulsive! But they mix it in with these addictingly fun tunes and suddenly you can't stop listening. It drives me nuts. I wish my audio mixer gave the option to re-write the lyrics and have the singer sing whatever you want them to in the song. That would be amazingly awesome. If it did I would totally have re-written songs like "Don't trust me" by 3Oh!3 and "1,2,3" by Britney Spears (It drives me nuts that I like a song by HER, let alone the fact that part of the lyrics say "living in sin is the new thing...." blehhh. But again, addicting fun tune).

That's something about Radio Disney that I always loved. They'll take some fun modern tunes and they actually WILL change the lyrics to make them appropriate. Lol, the only problem is that it's incredibly hard to find the Radio Disney versions of songs up for download, which annoys me because Bowling For Soup has some really fun songs (like Punk Rock 101 & 1985), but in all their songs they usually throw something in that ruins it for me. Although I generally try to ignore it when hearing the real verson of the song.... sometimes that's just all I can do.

Haha, wow, that was quite a little rant up there. I guess that's what happens when I listen to the radio on my mp3 player during school! School which I should be working on right now...oops... :-)

Oh well- one last side note before I get back to what I SHOULD be working on~ Happy Late Valentines Day to you!! Hope you had a good one; mine was quite amazing and unforgettable <3 :) (and for more than one reason, too).

And this is Sarah/Misty, signing off.

You accidentally go to a concert you don't like...You got skills.

It's amazing how pretty much anything can be totally fun if the right people are along. It makes me smile thinking about all the times that I probably would have hated had I not had friends along by my side.

Haha, like Friday night. I've learned now that it's probably best to know who the band is/what they're like before you go to a concert :-) So me and some guys from my youth group all went over to The Valley Christian Center (a large local church) (or The Christian Entertainment Center, as I call it, because honestly, they focus MUCH more on entertaining the crowds than teaching). Originally we'd thought the concert was 4 hours long- turned out that the first 3 hours was a time just to hang with your friends and play video games/buy snacks (the church had a coffee bar!). Once it got to the concert, we were all rather glad that it was only 45 minutes long, because it turned out to be a local hard rock/emo style Christian band that you could hardly make out the lyrics to..... And none of us were even into that genre of music XD Fail.

Had I been on my own, I'd have been constantly checking my watch to see when it'd all be over. But with my friends along? Somehow we manage to have fun no matter where we are or what's going on :-)

I <3 the Infamous Trio!
(Me, David, & Ian at the concert)

Funny thing about that picture that I realized after taking it was that we're not only lined up shortest to tallest, but oldest to youngest....and the youngest is the tallest one o_0 weird.
